Why did Sneha Dubey’s Speech At UNGA Take The Internet By Storm?

The name, Sneha Dubey has been dominating the Internet for a couple of days due to her belligerent speech at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly in the response to Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s statements about being a Pakistan as a “Victim” of terror.

India’s first secretary Sneha Dubey said the entire world has suffered because of Pakistan’s policies as the country nurtures terrorists in its backyard. The entire union territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh “were, are and will always be an integral and inalienable part of India”.

“This includes the areas that are under the illegal occupation of Pakistan. We call upon Pakistan to immediately vacate all areas under its illegal occupation,” Dubey added.

Such a response came in reference to Imran Khan’s address about the 2019 decision of India to abrogate Article 370 and the death of pro-Pakistan separatist leader Syed Ali Geelani.

“The worst and most pervasive form of Islamophobia now rules India,” Khan said in the address that was delivered by video due to Covid precautions.

Responding to this, Dubey said India is a pluralistic democracy where a lot of minorities live together.

While delivering the speech, the young diplomat was courageous and confident.
