The Chinese smartphone brand Realme has claimed a 20% spike in sales during the festive season this year. They claimed that it managed to sell 6.3 million new smartphones during the festive season that concluded last week. The company claims to have sold a total of 8.3 million new smart devices during the same period.
Realme also became the fastest brand in the world to reach the 50 million sale mark. Out of these 50 million devices, the company has sold around 30 million in India itself. For the 5th consecutive quarter, Realme has secured its position as the world’s fastest-growing smartphone brand. Out of the total sales, the company claims to have sold 30 million units in India. The sale of total of 8.3 million products was calculated for 45 days. Realme has sold 6.3 million or 63 lacs smartphones, 1,25,000+ audio devices, 3,50,000+ smart wearables, and 1,90,000+ smart TVs in the festive season sale. Realme’s smartphone portfolio includes various models under multiple lineups, and the brand has released 17 smartphones in 2020 in India so far. Realme claims that it has sold over 1,20,000 units of a single model, Realme C11. Realme’s wearable range includes Realme Band and Realme Watch. The company has various products under its audio portfolios, such as Realme Buds Air Pro, Realme Buds Wireless Pro, Realme Buds Q, and more.
Realme India CEO MadhavSheth took it to Twitter to share the news and said, “We are overwhelmed to see the adoption of Realme products at such a fast pace. Realme offers the most blockbuster products which are high on features, style, and performance and is available across price segments.” A study by Counterpoint Research claims that Realme had a 15% market share in the September quarter, ranking fourth in the top 5 tally. Samsung was the leading manufacturer with a 24% share, followed by Xiaomi, which was slightly behind at 23%. Vivo managed to acquire a total of 16% market share in the quarter under review. The report claims that India’s smartphone shipments grew 9% year-on-year to reach over 53 million units in the third quarter of 2020 – the highest-ever shipment in a quarter for the Indian smartphone market.
