The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has partnered with du, a subsidiary of the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), to introduce the “Happiness SIM.” This SIM card is tailored to provide exclusive benefits to blue-collar workers at cost-effective rates.
To obtain the Happiness SIM, individuals can visit business service centers, guidance centers, or utilize MoHRE’s online services for work contract issuance or renewal. The Happiness SIM offers six months of complimentary data and affordable international call rates, along with important notifications from MoHRE.
Ayesha Belharfia, MoHRE’s Acting Undersecretary for Emiratisation Affairs and Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs, has expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting its alignment with MoHRE’s mission to enhance the welfare of blue-collar workers in the UAE.
Belharfia emphasized, “By providing them with affordable and reliable connectivity, we are enabling them to stay connected with their loved ones and access essential services.”
Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, underscored the importance of keeping workers, particularly blue-collar workers, connected with their families and friends in the UAE. He explained that the Happiness SIM aims to meet their telecom needs with tailored solutions that combine connectivity and affordability.
The goal is to simplify and enrich the lives of both new blue-collar workers arriving in the UAE and existing customers, all while helping them save money for their families back home.
