The Hyderabad campus offers a unique post-graduate (M.A) in English with a system called the cafeteria system. Essentially what it means is that the students get to choose what they want to study by picking and choosing courses based on the credit system. They can also choose courses from different departments as well as different universities to support their academic and intellectual paths. This system allows the students to choose inter-disciplinary, intra-disciplinary courses, skill-oriented papers (even from other disciplines according to their learning needs, interests, and aptitude) and offers more flexibility to the students. In the MA English programme, the students are offered four different possibilities to earn a degree in:

MA English

MA Linguistics

MA in the teaching of English as a second language,

MA Literary and Culture Studies and

MA in English literature

One has the freedom to design their own courses on the basis of one’s interests. Admission of Indian students hinges on the applicants’ performance in a common online admission test conducted at various centers across India. These centers are notified every year in the advertisement. Foreign students do not have to take the admission test but need to get a specified score in either IELTS or TOEFL. The students must have a bachelor’s degree from recognized universities with a minimum of 55% marks to be eligible for the entrance test and admission. For further information, please click here
