A first-of-its-kind programme in the country, it is a unique interdisciplinary postgraduate programme at the intersection of information technology and social sciences. The programme is offered to students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to drive them towards creative solutions and multi-disciplinary research. As a two-year, full-time master’s programme, it aims to equip students to deal with the complex challenges in the wake of rapid technological transformation. Focusing on digital ecosystems, students are trained in the design of digital technologies, and the policy challenges of deploying such technologies with a broad-based training that is derived from computer science, engineering, research methods, management, economics and other social sciences. Students have to work on projects to address the challenges of the digital society by applying theoretical knowledge gained from the course. Students are trained in research as they are required to complete a master’s thesis or work on a project in a tech industry that focuses on the issues of digital society. 

This innovative master’s programme opens up career prospects in several sectors such as NGOs, think tanks, policy research organizations, research, CSR units, Government agencies and E-Governance initiatives, corporate research labs and design organizations. To be eligible for the course, the students must have secured a first-division undergraduate degree from a recognized university.
