Uppsala University is a comprehensive international research university dedicated to advancing science, scholarship and higher education. Established in 1477, it is the oldest university in Sweden. Eight scientists at the university have been awarded the Nobel Prize. For more than 500 years, Uppsala University has been a distinguished seat of learning offering various opportunities for students and researchers at all levels. There are a number of scholarships available each year for fee-paying international students applying to an international Bachelor’s or Master’s programme at Uppsala University.
Some scholarships are specifically designed for students applying to one of Uppsala University’s Master’s programmes, while others are open to both Master’s and Bachelor’s applicants. Some scholarships are for all citizens of a country outside the European Union (EU)/European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, whereas others are exclusive to citizens of certain countries.
The scholarships available for application may vary from year to year. The list of citizenships that are eligible for the King Carl Gustaf Scholarship also varies from year to year. One may apply to more than one scholarship, as long as one fulfills the eligibility criteria. However, it is only possible to receive one scholarship from Uppsala University.
UPPSALA UNIVERSITY GLOBAL SCHOLARSHIP
The scholarships cover the full cost of tuition fees for studies at Uppsala University. It is for Master’s programmes starting on 29 August 2022 that scholarships are offered during the current admission round. However, the scholarships do not cover living expenses.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the scholarship, the applicant must be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland. The application must demonstrate academic talent and interest in being in an educational environment. It is important to note that one can only be awarded an Uppsala University Global Scholarship for a Master’s programme at Uppsala University chosen as first priority. The programme that the applicant has ranked the highest of the four programmes can be chosen at University Admissions.

The application period for scholarships provided by Uppsala University for prospective students is from 18 January to 1 February 2022. The deadline is 23:59 CET (Central European Time) 1 February 2022. Please consider the time zone.
