Meet Vin Gopal, The Indian American Who Got Re-elected To New Jersey State Senate

Indian American Democrat Vin Gopal has recently been re-elected to New Jersey State Senate Seat in 11th District for the Second Term. By declaring the win on November 5, Gopal expressed his gratitude towards Monmouth County voters, who supported him in what he described as a “Republican tidal wave”. Vin said he would focus, in his second term, on addressing their concerns by bringing back civility to the political process.

“Name-calling, partisan bickering and misleading attacks will not solve any of the problems that our residents face in their day-to-day lives,” he said in the report. “It’s time for a new generation of leaders to stand up, bring us back together, and deliver results for working families.” Gopal, however, said Democrats statewide need to learn a lesson from the shellacking many took at all levels of government, reported app.com.

“I believe this should be a big wake-up call for Democratic Party as a whole,” he said. “Voters are frustrated by mandates and government overreach, and they are holding all Democrats responsible. It’s up to Democrats to hear the will of the voters because they were loud and clear.”

The Democrat has been facing criticism from voters, even before the pandemic by losing the battle against removing the religious exemptions for vaccines, which only exacerbated once the pandemic hit.

Adding to the troubles were pandemic-induced shutdowns that crushed small businesses, difficulties with the state’s unemployment system, initial vaccine rollouts that left New Jersey’s seniors struggling to find appointments, and school mask mandates that continued this fall even as COVID-19 cases were falling, the report said.

Vin Gopal, a resident of Monmouth County, was born at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune and raised in Freehold. Gopal, a proud owner of a small business, having built his business from the ground up, now with 14 employees, is also the Founder and President of a 501c(3) organization dedicated to helping Monmouth County charities and individuals in need.

Vin completed his Master’s in Public Administration from Rutgers University. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the then-Monmouth County Chamber of Commerce, and also served as President of the Hazlet Township Business Owners Association. He is also a past Board of Trustees Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth County. Vin spent many years as a volunteer first responder, serving as an EMT and certified CPR Instructor.

“During his first term in the State Senate, Vin has worked tirelessly across party lines to champion the causes of working families in Monmouth County, small-business owners, students and seniors. He has pushed for successful funding for Monmouth County schools, women’s healthcare facilities, mental health support along with many other key areas of funding support. He has also had a number of tax relief and shared-services bills signed into law and successfully fought party leadership from instituting a shore rental tax,” as per senatorgopal.com.
