The ranking is one of the essential parts of university/college hunting for many students. The Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) global higher education think-tank and compilers of the world’s most-consulted university rankings portfolio make this job easier every year by ranking institutes for higher education based on academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty-student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio, and international student ratio. For 2021 USA rankings have dominated the rank list, with four of the five top-ranking institutes being from the country. Indian Institute of Technology, (IIT) Bombay has emerged as the best institute in Indian while the National University of Singapore has grabbed the top-ranking among Asian Universities.

It is seen that Indian Institutes have not featured in the top 100. But they have found their place among the top 200, and 5 institutes have featured in the top 500. IIT Delhi was also ranked as the most employable institute in India. 107 Indian universities have been ranked amongst the 650 in the QS Asia University Rankings 2021 and of them, 7 bagged a position in the top 100. Mainland China has the most number of institutes featuring in the top 650 in this category with 124 ranked universities followed by India. Japan also has more universities in the top 50 of the ranking (11 universities) than any other nation, location, or territory.
