IELTS: Retake For One Module To Be Allowed From March Next Year Onwards

For those having big-ticket dreams, this is indeed good news. From March 2023 onwards, students aspiring for greener pastures will get the benefit of reappearing in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) for just one segment in case they have not got the ideal score during the first foray. Right now, students have to retake the whole test for all four components: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. Therefore, if a student wishes to augment their band score, they have no option but to go through the entire test again rather than only one.

The IELTS happens to be a specific English language fluency test to aid you in working, studying or migrating to a country where the native tongue is English. It is a renowned assessment process for those looking to shift their base to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

Coming to the latest development in the IELTS, the experimentation with the ‘One Skill Retake’ began in Australia in November this year.

The Two Variants Of IELTS

IELTS Academic: This one is meant specifically for those seeking admission at a college or university.

IELTS General Training: This is for the ones wanting to move to English-speaking countries (usually the UK, Australia, or Canada) and/or apply to training programmes or jobs.

The IELTS Score

Candidates will get an individual score for each segment, and an IELTS score in particular.

The IELTS scores are between 0 and 9. The entire score will be on the basis of the average of four module scores.

When It Is Held?

In India, the IELTS test dates can be availed four times a month or 48 times a year (for offline ones) and they are usually conducted on Saturdays and Thursdays.

In case people choose online mode, then they will get multiple dates and time slots and will be able to know the results within 3-5 days.
