How Foreign Students Can Avail Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarship For PhD & Master’s? 

Monash University is the largest university in Australia, ranked among the world’s top 100, and a member of the prestigious Group of Eight. Founded in 1958, the university has seen rapid growth and has made an influential presence in research with its 10 faculties spread over 150 fields of research. With four Australian campuses, one in Malaysia and over 100 international partners, the university has a presence around the globe. All Monash courses have an international focus, whether one takes subjects on global issues, participates in study abroad programmes, or learns alongside students from diverse cultures. 

Co-funded Monash Graduate Scholarships are provided by Monash University to support international students undertaking Research Doctorate and Research Master’s degrees. These scholarships are co-funded by Monash University and the enrolling faculty/academic unit and are available to help foreign students meet living expenses while studying at Monash. 

Eligibility  

All graduate and master’s research degrees have minimum academic entry requirements, which must be met by all applicants including: 

All graduate research degrees require sound English language skills. If the courses are entirely taught and formally assessed in English, the applicant can be exempt from the English proficiency exams. If that is not the case, then the applicants must submit IELTS, TOEFL, Cambridge English or PTAE scores.  

Prior to applying for a graduate research degree, you will need to submit an expression of interest (EOI) to the relevant faculty or academic unit. 

Applications for a PhD, research master’s, course transfer and/or centrally managed scholarships are submitted through the Graduate Research Admission and Scholarship Application portal

Funding Details 

If an applicant is selected for the scholarship programme, the following benefits are provided ie worth $30,000:  

a living allowance (stipend), and 

a relocation allowance, if eligible. 

There are a number of tuition scholarships available for international students that can be packaged with this stipend.
