Founded in 1865, Cornell University is a private Ivy League and statutory land-grant research university in Ithaca, New York. It is organized into seven undergraduate colleges and seven graduate divisions at its main Ithaca campus, with each college and division defining its specific admission standards and academic programmes in near autonomy. It is one of the few private land grant universities in the United States.

The Tata Scholarship Fund will support approximately 20 scholars at any given time and will ensure that the very best Indian students have access to Cornell, regardless of their financial circumstances.
