Seoul National University is a national research university, located in Seoul, South Korea. Among the “flagship Korean national universities”, it is considered to be the most prestigious institution to study in South Korea. Seoul National University holds a memorandum of understanding with over 700 academic institutions in 40 countries, the World Bank and a general academic exchange programme with the University of Pennsylvania. According to QS World University Rankings in 2021, the university was ranked 37th in the world and 9th in Asia in terms of excellence. SNU is 9th in Asia and 60th in the world according to the 2021 Times Higher Education World University Rankings.

The university offers a fully-funded scholarship known as the Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students (GSFS) for master’s and Ph.D. students looking to study in Korea.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates interested in the Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students 2021 at the Seoul National University are expected to meet the following eligibility criteria;
Applicants can be of any nationality.
Master’s Degree applicants must hold an Undergraduate Degree.
Ph.D. Degree applicants must hold a Master’s Degree.
Candidates must hold an offer for the full-time program offered at the University.
Applicants must have an excellent academic record.
Candidates should not hold other scholarships.
You must enroll in the semester at which the scholarship is offered.
Scholarship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive the following scholarship benefits;
Tuition fee: full tuition exemption for a maximum of 4 semesters
Living expenses of 500,000 KRW per month (differ according to recipient’s majors)
Application Procedures
As part of the application process for the Graduate Scholarship for Excellent Foreign Students 2021 at the Seoul National University, candidates are required to follow these norms;

Applicants should submit a scholarship application to SNU’s Office of International Affairs.
