The Erasmus programme aims to make education more inclusive through its scholarships and is dedicated to enhancing research and international collaborative networks. One of the most sought-after programme in the Erasmus Mundus initiative is the Master’s in Big Data Management and Analytics. The applications for the 2022-2024 session are now open for those seeking to advance their studies in Europe. The programme is being offered by a consortium of Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Spain, Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e) in the Netherlands, CentraleSupélec (CS) in France and Università degli Studi di Padova (UniPD) in Italy.
The Course In Question
With the massive digitalization of virtually all aspects of our daily lives in the past decade, public and private organizations in all sectors have secured a vast amount of digital data on a daily basis. Now it become imperative for such organizations to refine and analyze big data in order to address well-formulated questions concerning problems of interest. It is only through data-driven innovation that the economic and social benefits can be fully realized.
The Erasmus Mundus joint Master Degree Programme in Big Data Management and Analytics (BDMA) is a unique course that encompasses all of the data management and analytics aspects of Big Data (BD), built on top of Business Intelligence (BI) foundations and complemented with horizontal skills. It adheres to international studies and is structured to cover all the skills BI and BD specialists require.
The programme favors the integration of students into a network of specialists and researchers in BI and BD. Scholars from academic partners around the world and partners from leading industries in BI, private R&D companies, service companies, public research institutes and public authorities will contribute to the programme by training students, providing computers, software, course material, job placement or internship perspectives as well as financial support.
This consortium will prepare the graduates not only to answer today’s professional challenges by strongly connecting with the needs accruing from the industry but also to extend their studies to doctorate programmes, through strong connections with the researchers’ and innovators’ views.
The programme is fully taught in English to integrate students from diverse backgrounds.
Eligibility
- Prospective students must have a Bachelor degree in Science, with a major in Computer Science
- Proficiency in English is required with competitive scores in certifications such as TOEFL, IELTS (Academic), or Cambridge General English FCE
Scholarship Details
The scholarship for international students, who have been successfully selected for the programme, comprises of:
- Participation costs: up to 9,000 euros per year
- Travel costs: 2.000 or 3,000 euros per year depending on whether the student is residing in a country that is less than or more than 4,000 km away from Brussels, the coordinating institution of the BDMA programme.
- Installation costs: 1,000 euros.
- Contribution to subsistence costs: 1,000 euros per month for the entire duration of the BDMA programme (24 months maximum).
The applications for the session of 2022-2024 have started. The last date for the submission of the online form for those seeking scholarship grants is December 12th, 2021.
