Sciences Po or the Paris Institute of Political Studies is a premier institute of France and ranks 2nd in the QS world rankings in Political Science. Started in 1872, the institute offers expertise and academic rigor on par with the best institutions in the world. Columbia University is a private ivy league research university in New York that was established in 1754. The university is ranked amongst the best institutions in the world. The university has produced 4 US presidents, 96 Nobel Laureates and 125 Pulitzer prize winners and provides an excellent opportunity for students to pursue journalism.
Sciences Po created the Émile Boutmy scholarship, named after the founder of Sciences Po (1871), in order to welcome the very best international students from outside the European Union. The Émile Boutmy Scholarship is awarded only to those students whose profiles match the admissions priorities of Sciences Po and individual course requirements. The Émile Boutmy scholarship fund benefits from the generous support of its sponsors (benefactors, companies and foundations), who are eager to allow the most deserving international students to study at Sciences Po. Currently, the scholarship programme is being supported by: BNP Paribas, Chalhoub Group, RATP Foundation, L’Oréal and Total.
The Émile Boutmy scholarship is awarded to students arriving at Sciences Po for their first year of study. The Émile Boutmy programme entails a tuition grant of €12,200 per year which covers part of the tuition fees for the two years of the Master’s degree programme. At the undergraduate level, the scholarship amount can range from €3,600 to €13,000 per year for three years.
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be first-time applicants. The applicants must belong to a non-European Union state, whose household does not file taxes within the European Union. To qualify for the scholarship programme, the students must be admitted to the Undergraduate or Master’s programme at Sciences Po. It is important to note that this scholarship is only for undergraduate and select master’s programmes, not Ph.D. The applicant must have a Non-French undergraduate degree (or 180 ECTS credits/bachelor’s degree or equivalent) from an institution located in France or abroad to be eligible to apply for a graduate programme.
Deadlines
Deadline for the undergraduate programme (applicants from foreign secondary schools): mid-February 2022.
Deadline for the master’s programme: November 30, 2021.
This scholarship is awarded on the basis of merit and according to the type of profile sought for this programme. Social criteria may also be taken into account. The candidates must indicate in their admission applications their desire to take the scholarship as the same will not be granted after the admission at Sciences Po.
