Waterfalls may not appeal to everyone but it cannot be ignored that viewing these brings a primal reaction and unique experience. Embarking on a waterfall trail during monsoons takes you through unsullied forests. 

While talking about waterfalls, it is not only northeast India but also the sylvan state of Jharkhand that offers mesmerizing waterfalls. Dassam Falls

Located near Taimara village in Jharkhand, Dassam Falls is a natural cascade across the Kanchi River. The waterfalls from a height of 44 metres and its sound echoes all around the place. At one of the Ranchi plateaus, Dassam Falls is one of the many scarps falls in Jharkhand. It is a perfect example of a knick point that represents breaks in slopes in the longitudinal profile of a rive caused by rejuvenation. The break-in channel gradient allows water to fall vertically giving rise to a waterfall. The water of Dassam Falls is so clean that tourists enter the water for a bath or swim. However, they are advised not to do so due to the current that is generated. 

Lodh Falls

Also known as Budha Ghagh, the Lodh Falls is located on the Burha River deep in a mid-forest of Palamau Tiger Reserve. This waterfall is a tiered waterfall with multiple distinct drops in relatively close succession. With a height of 143 metres, Lodh Falls is the 21st highest waterfall in India. The thundering sound of the fall is audible even 10 km away.

This happens to be the 34th highest waterfall in India and over here waterfalls from a height of 98 metres on the course of the Subarnarekha River. During monsoons, it takes a formidable form. However, in the dry season, it turns into a picnic spot as there is a pool at the base of the Hundru Falls, and it serves as a bathing place as well. Interestingly, you can reach the Falls via 750 staircases. Throughout your way to Hundru Falls, you would hear the sound of the waterfall. It also offers a range of thrilling experiences for adventure lovers. 

Jonha Falls

Situated at an edge of the Ranchi Plateau, the Jonha Falls is a fine example of a hanging valley falls that you must not miss at any cost. With the Ganga River hanging over its master stream, the formation of falls is through the Raru river. Jonha Falls, perhaps the most majestic falls in the state, slides from a height of 43 metres. You have to descend 722 steps to admire the cool and cozy ambience. 

Panchghagh Falls

Located 5 kilometres away from the Khunti district, Panchghagh Falls is the collective name for a group of five waterfalls formed in a row due to the breaking up of the Banai River. It forms beautiful little rivulets through a cluster of rocks. The landscape features massive boulders spread across uneven rocky terrain. And the trail leading to the falls looks drenched in serenity with butterflies flitting about in droves.
