We all have become very travel-centric, especially after the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, which were in force for close to a year and a half. Nepal

Thailand 

Yes, if you don’t want to take the plane then you can go by road to reach Thailand. The trip is worth every effort of yours but you require a valid passport and special permissions. To travel from India to Thailand, people need to take the India-Myanmar-Thailand trilateral highway. The road trip begins in Manipur, going all the way to Thailand’s Mae Sot. With a drive involving 3,200 km in its entirety, it would take close to a week to complete the road journey. 

Bhutan 

This is another foreign country that you can travel from India on road. You are not required to have a visa or passport for the journey, however, you need to preregister your personal vehicle prior to entering Bhutan’s border. The perfect way to reach Bhutan from India by road is from Jaigaon town in West Bengal, which is just 4.3 km from the border town of Bhutan, Phuentsholing. 

Malaysia 

It is very much possible also to travel to Malaysia by road from India. But before taking the journey make sure you have your passport, visa and driving licence in order. To travel to Kuala Lumpur, the capital city, one needs to cross the international borders of Myanmar and Thailand as well. It would take a little over 3 days to travel via road from India.
