Tech giant Apple announced that it would hold a special event, ‘Unleashed’ on October 18 at 10:00 pm IST. Apple on October 12 released a teaser showing an Apple logo formed of beams of light against a black backdrop with the word ‘Unleashed’. It is anticipated that this could be a hint of the arrival of the rumoured Apple M1X processor that might be at the heart of the new Macbook Pro and Mac Mini models. However, Apple hasn’t confirmed anything yet.
Earlier, Apple analyst and journalist Mark Gurman indicated that the company would launch new MacBook Pro models with larger screens. As per previous reports, the M1X has been developed in two variations: 10 CPU cores (eight high-performance and two high-efficiency) and 16 or 32 graphics cores.
According to the rumours, the debut of new M1X-based 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are likely to have better connectivity, MagSafe charging, a mini-LED display, the return of an HDMI port and no Touch Bar. Besides, there might be an SD card reader slot and support for MagSafe wireless charging as well.
The M1X chip is also said to come with better neural processing capabilities and up to 64GB of RAM.
Apart from MacBook Pro models, Apple may launch AirPods 3, new third-generation AirPods, expected to launch last month and iPhone 13 series.
Apple’s upcoming Unleashed event will take place a day before the official launch of the Google Pixel 6 series. Viewers can watch the event via its website and official YouTube channel like last month’s event.
