Air Canada will begin a new thrice-weekly nonstop flight between Delhi and Montreal from October 31. Announcing this on October 13, Air Canada stated that starting October 31, ahead of Diwali celebrations, Air Canada will offer three flights per week to the growing Indian community in Montreal.
“Air Canada is the only carrier offering a direct service to Delhi out of Montreal, allowing easy connections through our extensive network,” Mark Galardo, senior vice president, Network Planning and Revenue Management at Air Canada, was quoted as saying by news agency IANS. “We continue to focus on the growing visiting friends and relatives’ market and this capacity expansion is a response to increasing demand.”
The Canada-India market is “an important and strategic one for Air Canada,” he added.
The airline further said that the thrice-weekly flight would operate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, leaving Delhi at 1.55 am and Montreal at 8.10 pm. Served by a 298-seat Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Air Canada aims to offer three cabins of service: Signature Class, Premium Economy class, and Economy class.
In addition, the airline that offers daily flights from Vancouver has already increased the frequency to Delhi from Toronto to ten flights per week from October 15.
As per Mark Galardo, “The additional flights and new route demonstrate Air Canada’s anticipation about the promise and growth of the Indian subcontinent. Air Canada also looks forward to further strengthening the cultural and business ties between India and Canada.”
After almost five months, Canada resumed its air operations for India with Air Canada’s restart of Delhi-Toronto nonstops.
