The University of Oxford is a premier collegiate research university and is renowned around the world for its precise research and the charm of the university town of Oxford. One of the oldest universities in the world, the university was functioning as early as 1096 AD, making it the oldest institution in the English-speaking world. Oxford operates the world’s oldest university museum called the Ashmolean as well as the largest university press in the world.
The University happens to be an ideal location for pursuing higher studies as it provides state-of-the-art infrastructure and research grants for budding scholars. The university has produced 28 prime ministers of the United Kingdom, 72 Nobel laureates, 3 Field Medallists and 160 Olympic medallists.
The Weidenfeld-Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme aims to build leaders of tomorrow by providing outstanding university graduates and professionals from developing and emerging economies the opportunity to pursue fully-funded graduate studies at Oxford, combined with a comprehensive programme of leadership development, long-term mentoring and networking.
The Oxford-Weidenfeld and Hoffmann Scholarships and Leadership Programme was established in 2015, thanks to donations from multiple donors, to mark the 95th birthday of Lord Weidenfeld. The scholarships benefit from partnerships with multiple colleges where the college contributes a portion of the funding and therefore successful candidates will be transferred to a partner college while taking up the scholarship.
