The trailer of ’83’, Kabir Khan’s much-awaited movie, is finally out on Tuesday. The film starring Ranveer Singh as former captain Kapil Dev is based on Team India’s victory at the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
The under 4-minute trailer opens at India’s match against Zimbabwe on June 18 in 1983 in England and shows the Indian team faltering on the field. It also gives a glimpse of how poorly the Indian team was treated compared to the West Indies team.
Ranveer, as Kapil, tells a press conference that the team is here to win. His statement, however, is met with mockery. In the second half of the trailer, the Indian team makes a stunning comeback, and the rest is history
Kapil Dev shared the trailer on his official Instagram handle with the caption, “The story of my team. #83Trailer in Hindi Out Now: 83 RELEASING IN CINEMAS ON 24TH DEC, 2021, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. Also in 3D. #ThisIs83.”
The film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 24.
