Robinhood, one of the most popular trading apps, has made available a beta version of cryptocurrency wallet. Aparna Chennapragada, the company’s CPO, told in a report that many customers are enthusiastic about trying out the new product.
With the Beta version of wallets, Robinhood users will be able to send and receive their crypto from Robinhood to external crypto wallets, for the very first time connecting Robinhood crypto holders with the greater blockchain ecosystem marking a major milestone in the broker’s cryptocurrency venture.
As part of its announced phased launch, Robinhood Markets have rolled out its new crypto wallet to 1,000 users. The first customers to gain access are those on its Wallets waitlist, which is based on the possession of an external wallet for testing and safety checks. Upon reaching 10,000 customers by March, the program will be rolled out to the rest of WenWallet’s waitlist.
Robinhood added crypto gifting and company Q&A to its Robinhood app, in addition to highlighting digital asset wallets. Users of the Robinhood app can access the company’s roadmaps and know where the business is headed.
In terms of becoming a prominent player in the crypto sphere, Chennapragada said: “You’ll see us continue to play in this space.” Through continuous collaboration with the community and its own customers, the company makes sure that its products meet the expectations of the consumers.
On Shiba Inu Listing:
Chennapragada said she is aware that many consumers in the Robinhood community expect the company to list Shiba Inu, the celebrated meme coin.
Nevertheless, she made it clear that token listings would be handled appropriately. The company has been systematically putting the necessary “building blocks” into place to give its customers the most satisfying crypto-asset experience.
Additionally, she explained that the objective is to ensure that digital assets are accessible to users in the most affordable way possible. She said, “We are systematically putting our building blocks in place to enable great crypto products. It started with enabling affordable access to coins, so you can be part of this emerging economy.”
2 Million Waitlist Sign-Ups:
According to Robinhood, one million users have signed up on their crypto wallet waitlist so far, and more than 1.6 million are already on the list.
After fulfilling its purpose of getting feedback, the Alpha program concluded. A group of beta testers from the wallet waitlist used the wallet’s first version to provide detailed design and functionality feedback.
Even we were surprised by just how excited our customers are about wallets”, said the firm. “We’d heard the term “Wen Wallets” echo across the web for a long time.” While we’d like to release new products as soon as possible, building wallets and connecting our millions of customers “on-chain” (connecting with the blockchain) is a major undertaking. As a result, we are rolling out wallets methodically, with Safety First as our foremost concern.
