Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Monday, May 2, reached Germany’s Berlin, with the Indian diaspora welcoming him wholeheartedly. Prime minister Modi is scheduled to hold his first in-person meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and co-chair the 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) later in the day.
Berlin is PM Modi’s first stop in the three-nation visit to Germany, Denmark, and France.
When PM Modi reached Berlin, the Indian diaspora received him with a rousing welcome. PM Modi greeted members of the Indian community, awaiting his arrival at Hotel Adlon Kempinski in Berlin.
“Landed in Berlin. Today, I will be holding talks with Chancellor @OlafScholz, interacting with business leaders and addressing a community programme. I am confident this visit will boost the friendship between India and Germany,” earlier this morning, the Prime Minister tweeted.
The 6th IGC would be followed by a high-level meeting where PM and Chancellor Scholz are scheduled to interact with the top CEOs of both countries. PM Modi will also address the Indian diaspora in Germany.
On Tuesday, PM Modi is also scheduled to visit Denmark to hold talks with Nordic leaders and other high-level interactions.
The visit will conclude on Wednesday with a stopover in Paris.
