Introduced by the United Arab Emirates in 2019, the golden visa is a new system that provides long-term residence visas. It enables foreigners to stay, study and work in the country without mandating a national sponsor, with 100% control or ownership of a business in the UAE. By securing a five- or 10-years of residency, the golden visa can be extended not only for the applicants involved but also for their spouse, children, parents and dependents.
