Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, on Thursday, September 9, released the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Rankings 2021. The Rankings have been released under various categories, including, Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Overall, Law, Research etc.
In the overall category, IIT Madras has topped, and IISc Bengaluru has come second, followed by IIT Bombay at third place. IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Guwahati, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Banaras Hindu University (BHU) are there in the top 10 list.
The rankings for all colleges and universities across the country are based on teaching, learning, resources; research and professional practice, graduation outcome; outreach and inclusivity; and peer perception.
While in University ranking, IISc Bengaluru topped the list. JNU and BHU follow in the second and third positions. Calcutta University, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Jamia Milia Islamia,
Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Jadavpur University, University of Hyderabad and Aligarh Muslim University are the top 10 universities across the country.
Miranda House in Delhi is the number one college across the country as per the new ranking. Lady Shri Ram College For Women stands second and Loyola College in Chennai stands third which are followed by St. Xavier`s College in Kolkata, Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira in Howrah, PSGR Krishnammal College for Women in Coimbatore, Presidency College in Chennai, St Stephen’s college in Delhi, Hindu College in Delhi and Shri Ram College of Commerce in Delhi.
