After the launch of Defender 110 in 2020, Land Rover has finally begun sales of three-door Defender 90 in India at prices starting from Rs 76.57 lakh (ex-showroom). Prices for the three-door version of the SUV are expandable up to Rs 1.12 crore (ex-showroom). Although this model looks like Defender 110, it has a shorter wheelbase.

The carmaker has also silently launched a high-specification petrol variant in Defender 90, and it has provided three engine options: two petrol (one small and one large) and one diesel. While the larger 3.0-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine makes 394 bhp and 550Nm of peak torque, the small 2.0-litre petrol engine can make 296 bhp and 400Nm of peak torque. And diesel power comes from the 3.0-litre unit with 296 bhp and 650Nm of peak torque. All three engines come with all-wheel drive and are turbocharged.
The height and width of both Defender 100 and 90 are almost similar. Land Rover Defender 90, however, has a 4,583mm wide and a 2,587mm long wheelbase, which is shorter than Defender 110. Defender 90 thus can accommodate five people inside, with a jump seat in the front row, making space for the sixth person when required.
The new Land Rover is available in three main variants- Defender, X-Dynamic and Defender X- which are further divided into S, SE and HSE configuration packs. Aiming to spot differences between Defender 90 and Defender 110, the carmaker included four accessory packs: Explorer, Adventure, Country, and Urban.
