MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition launched in India

 The famous German Luxury car maker BMW has launched the new special edition MINI in India. This special edition is named Paddy Hopkirk Edition and offered as a completely built-up unit (CBU); 15 units of this hatchback are available in India.

According to Mini India, this particular edition vehicle will be launched in India on a purely foreign basis and the vehicle can be booked through shop.mini.in website. The car is introduced as a tribute to the racing legend Patrick “Paddy” Hopkirk and his triumph in the Monte Carlo Rally. The No. 37 Mini Cooper S was his vehicle on the racing track. The special edition vehicle in his name is priced at Rs 41.70 lakh. 

The car is available in chilly red body color and white roof. PadiHopkirk’s rally car number 37 is recorded on the sides of this vehicle. The Paddy Hopkirk Edition comes with a black mirror cap and a 16-inch Victory Spoke alloy wheel. Glossy black treatment on the bonnet, door handle, fuel filler, mini logo, signature kidney grille and some black chrome elements for giving it a sportier look. There are also 37 stickers on both sides of the car. Paddy Hopkirk’s signature on the door sills is in bold letters. The panoramic sunroof, comfort access system, rearview camera and John Cooper Works Sport leather steering wheel will make the interior of this vehicle different from the regular model. Paddy Hopkirk’s signature is also inscribed on the white stripe on the bonnet.

“The MINI Paddy Hopkirk Edition is a reflection of MINI’s challenger spirit and racing genes. It is a celebration of the ultimate MINI challenger moment – Paddy Hopkirk’s first Monte Carlo Rally victory in the classic Mini Cooper S,” BMW Group India President VikramPawah said.

The vehicle is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder petrol engine with twin power turbo technology. It produces 192bhp of power and 280 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.7 seconds.  The maximum speed is 235 kilometers per hour. The transmission is a seven-speed Steptronic automatic with paddle shifters for slick shifting. Moreover, various multiple drive modes on the special edition hatchback alter the performance according to the owner’s needs. The different driving modes are MID (the normal mode itself), Sport (for enhanced performance) and Green (which is for saving the fuel).
