The South Korean carmaker Kia Motors has released the first images of its first battery vehicle, the EV6. The car is expected to be launched in March, in line with Kia’s new design philosophy, ‘Opposites United’, and it is based on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). The manufacturers claim that the EV6 is a battery-powered vehicle that is compatible with nature.
The EV6 is designed to be similar to luxury crossover vehicles. It also features the first battery-electric vehicle to be built on a new design philosophy designed by Kia Motors. Kia’s design studios are jointly designing the vehicle in Korea, Germany and the United States.
Information about the battery’s capacity and the electric motor provided in it, and the range it provides is yet to be released. There are indications that this information will be revealed with the introduction of EV6.
“EV6, as the first dedicated Kia EV, is a showcase of human-centred, progressive design and electrified power. We strongly believe EV6 is a compelling and relevant model for the new EV market. With EV6, we aimed to create a distinctive, impactful design by using a combination of sophisticated, high-tech features on pure and rich volumes while providing a unique space as a futuristic EV,” saidKarimHabib, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Design Center.
While the Tiger Nose Grill is a regular feature on regular vehicles, the EV6 is designed with a Tiger Face design. Headlamps ready in sharp design, sleek DRL, large bumper in dual-tone. The small grille and large air dam add to the look.
The design is done in a way that enhances the aerodynamic capacity. The rear has a style that beats premium vehicles. The rear stylus features a slightly protruding hatch door, a taillight connecting the two bumps of the bumper, a chromium strip extending through the hatch door, a new Kia badge and a dual-tone bumper. Another beauty of this vehicle is the five-spoke dual-tone alloy wheels. The interior is decorated in unparalleled luxury. The large HD Audio-visual navigation screen, floating instrument cluster, two-spoke multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, ample storage space and leather-covered seats give the interior a luxurious look.
