The Canadian singer and Grammy award-winning artist Justin Bieber has driven deeper into the world of NFTs by joining the renowned Bored Ape Yacht Club and purchasing one of their NFTs for $1.31 million.
How much, you ask? Nothing crazy, just $1.31 million. Yes. Bored Ape #3001, which Justin Bieber purchased for 500 ETH ($1.3 million), is now in Justin Bieber‘s possession. It is also said that Justin Bieber paid more than 300% above the floor of the NFT.
As a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) member, Justin Bieber joined the ranks of other celebrities like Serena Williams, Gunna, Travis Barker, and Stephen Curry.
According to the NFT marketplace Opensea, Justin Bieber bought 500 Ethereum worth $1.29 million at the time of settlement on a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT.
With his popular seven-track EP “My World,” Justin Bieber became the youngest solo male recording artist to reach number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 in almost 48 years. Now, 13 years later, Bieber is dabbling in cryptocurrency and non-fungible token assets.
Bieber has been using the Opensea name “JustinBieberNFTS”, and the BAYC he purchased is Bored Ape Yacht Club #3001. An interesting fact regarding the acquisition is that the BAYC’s floor price was 104 ethers, or $270,908 at the time of the sale.
Furthermore, while Bieber spent 500 ether on his purchase, BAYC #3001 was valued at $208,237 by January 29, 2022. This means the Canadian singer paid much more than the market estimated the BAYC to be worth.
It is estimated that Justin Bieber has around $879K worth of crypto in his wallet, which means he has 340.43 Ethereum sitting idle. His wallet also showed a passion for collecting NFTs, with stats showing the musician has 619 NFTs from 49 collections.
According to dappradar.com statistics, Bieber owns fractions of the Doge NFT. While holding all those NFTs, and although he paid $1.29 million for BAYC #3001, the total “estimated” worth of all of his NFTs is $502,680.
