International Emmy Awards 2021 Winners List: Vir Das, Sushmita Sen And Nawazuddin Siddiqui Lose

The 49th International Emmy Awards was held on November 23 in New York City. From India, actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, stand-up comedian Vir Das and Sushmita Sen-starrer Aarya were among the nominees. But none of the nominees ended up winning at the prestigious award function. There were 44 nominees across 11 categories from 24 countries at the International Emmys 2021.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui was nominated for Best Actor for his performance in Serious Men. The Emmy went to Scottish actor David Tennant for Des. Sushmita Sen-led Aarya lost Best Drama to the Israeli production Tehran, and Vir Das’ comedy special, lost Best Comedy to hit French show Call My Agent.

 Vir tweeted from the event, “I was nominated for best comedy at the International Emmy Awards, for jokes. Call My Agent, a beautiful show I love won. But I got this medal, and ate this fantastic salad. It was an honour to represent my country. Thanks so much to the @iemmys.”
