In a step to know the wellbeing of Indians staying in Bahrain in the NSH labour camp, Indian Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Piyush Srivastava, on November 13 visited the facility, which houses a sizeable number of Indian staff and workers.
Ahmed Al Haiki, Assistant Under-Secretary, Bahrain’s Ministry of Labour and Social Development, accompanied the Ambassador. The delegates from the Indian Community Relief Fund (ICRF), an autonomous body under the patronage of the Ambassador of India to the Kingdom of Bahrain, have also accompanied him.
The camp, which spreads over 311,153 Square meters, has an accommodation capacity of over 8,500 workers. The facility is dedicated to the construction of the new BAPCO Refinery under the BAPCO Modernization Program (BMP) Project.
The Ambassador and other delegates themselves took some time to interact with the workforce to know their well-being and satisfaction. They even visited the worker’s rooms and other areas like the camp office, 24 Hour Clinic, dedicated camp support crew, security coverage, in‐house Kitchen and dining facilities, prayer halls, laundry, recreational, sporting, and other related facilities.
“I came to know that this camp is accommodating the largest Indian community in Bahrain and I must say that this is one of the best camps I have visited so far in means of the facilities, the accommodation, sporting facility, medical facilities and the way the workers are looked after by the Management. During my interaction with the workers, I saw workers were satisfied with the facilities. Thank you for organizing this visit,“ said Piyush Srivastava.
While Ahmed Jaafar Alhaiki said, “Company like NSH is one of the finest companies in Bahrain and is the strategic partner of Ministry of Labour when it comes for employing Bahraini employees,” during the visit.
