“India Is Proud Of Her Democracy,” PM Modi To Indian Diaspora in Germany

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with members of the Indian diaspora in Munich on Sunday after arriving in Germany for a two-day visit. He is the country to attend the Group of Seven (G7) Summit to be hosted by Germany on June 26–27.

The Indian diaspora from all over Europe gave the PM a resounding welcome earlier at the venerable Audi Dome. The event began with Indian traditional performances by persons of Indian descent before PM Modi’s speech, as per the news published by Republicworld.com.

As per the information collected from the broadcast and news sources, PM Modi addressed the Indian diaspora after receiving a warm reception and remarked, “People watching this in India must be filled with pride. The democracy that is ingrained in every Indian’s DNA was established on June 26. Some attempted to destroy this democracy 47 years ago (a reference to the emergency imposed by ex-PM Indira Gandhi). The exuberant history of India’s democracy has a dark spot: an emergency. Regardless of where we reside in the world, India is proud of her democracy.”
