Hyundai India launched the i20 N Line in September in India, and it is the sportier version of the premium hatchback. Though it is the sportiest i20 yet, this is not a full-blown N model like those sold in the global markets. So, if you are planning to upgrade your car to Hyundai i20 N Line, take a look at its advantages and disadvantages.
Pros
- The i20 N Line gets a new black cascading grille with the N Line badge, along with a new, more aggressive-looking bumper with red inserts and more black highlights. The car also comes with underbody cladding with more red highlights, black ORVMs and an N Line badge on the front fender.
- The i20 N Line offers a sprinkling of extra spiciness to the regular i20 with the 1-litre turbo petrol engine. And this model by Hyundai is the biggest rival to Volkswagen Polo.
- It gets a sportier cabin and an all-black treatment with black upholstery on the seats with red contrast dual stitching and piping.
- The i20 N Line also comes with recalibrated steering geometry for better feedback and a 30 per cent stiffer suspension setup.
- Other sporty elements inside the cabin include N inspired gear knob, a new leather-wrapped steering wheel, and aluminium foot pedals.
Cons
Powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder GDi turbo petrol engine, the Hyundai i20 N Line produces 118 bhp and 172 Nm of torque, and there is no change in the power output as compared to the regular premium hatchback.
The i20 N Line with the DCT does 0-100 kmph in 9.9 seconds, which is the same as the premium hatchback, and we would have loved it to be more powerful and quicker.
