Taking note of a recent tweet by Ceek claiming H&M would open the first virtual store in the metaverse, H&M debunked the rumour.
CEEK announced the launch and posted a clip of how the store looks on its official Twitter account.
Hennes & Mauritz or H&M, one of the world’s leading clothing companies, is now the first to establish a presence in the metaverse. It appears that the Swedish fashion clothing firm has opened a virtual store in CEEK city in the metaverse. The company aims to provide customers with a virtual reality (VR) shopping experience.

H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) is one of the world’s most significant fashion and design companies, with 53 online markets and 75 stores in 75 countries. With 4,856 stores globally, H&M is one of the largest clothing brands. Its largest markets include Germany, the U.S., the U.K., France, Sweden, Russia, Italy, and the Netherlands.
H&M has, however, denied reports that it will open a metaverse store. A spokesperson for the company clarified: We would like to confirm that H&M is not opening a store in the metaverse at this time.
The company stated in the false reports that customers would be able to walk through the store, choose the products they want, and pay for them using ceek tokens (CEEK). Smart contracts govern Ceek’s virtual reality environments on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), its website details.
Also, the false reports claim that customers will be able to order clothes seen in the H&M metaverse store from physical stores later. H&M opening a store in the metaverse was first reported in a tweet posted by Ceek on Dec. 7 last year. The company said it created a “concept VR store” for H&M.
Ceek’s official Twitter account clarified Monday: “The H&M store in the Ceek metaverse is a concept that was presented to H&M and is not an actual virtual store.”. “We are working with H&M to make this a reality, but it is not yet a reality.”
