Here’s How Much Dogecoin Creator Earned From DOGE

Have you ever wondered how much money the inventors of Dogecoin, probably the most popular meme coin on the internet and the one that sparked a big fervour, made from their creation?

Even though the project was previously valued at $80 billion, it is not a life-changing fortune anymore. Billy Markus, who goes by the Twitter moniker Shibetoshi Nakamoto, recently disclosed that he doesn’t make much money.

Co-Founder of Dogecoin Dissatisfied with Online Scammers

Dogecoin, probably the king of all meme coins, continues to capture retail investors’ interest. Billy Markus, who has over 1.2 million Twitter followers, has expressed his displeasure with the harassment and insults he has received from internet crooks.

Markus highlighted his disgust towards the harassers and scammers who receive absurd incentives for their unsuccessful products, admitting that he felt “salty” over only making around $3K from establishing Dogecoin.

Markus protested when told that the code he contributed for Dogecoin was only worth $3,000 and added: “It’s definitely less than minimum wage considering all the actual hours I spent on it (beyond the original construction).”

Jackson Palmer, the other co-founder, left the project in 2015 because he saw cryptocurrencies as an exploitative means of enriching its top proponents. Markus eventually gave in and left the project.

Markus also agreed that “dogecoin would have collapsed if Jackson and I were greedy, 100 per cent” in response to a Twitter user’s statement on Thursday. Meanwhile, he expressed regret for selling all of the coins in 2015.

Markus smashed other Meme Coins:

Markus has chastised meme currency makers for making “ridiculous promises” to lure investors into the scheme. He has a particular beef with Shiba Inu, the meme coin that rose to prominence alongside Dogecoin in 2021.

He blasted Shiba Inus’ new Metaverse initiative, calling it “random metaverse” and “selling phoney land” with Ethereum and claiming that if he were a SHIB holder, he would be annoyed by it.
