Dussehra or Vijayadashami is one of the greatest Hindu festivals that bring the five-day festivities of Durga Puja to a close. It marks the victory of good over evil, wherein Ravana, the King of Lanka, loses the battle against Lord Ram, the King of Ayodhya.
According to Hindu calendar, it is celebrated on the tenth day of Ashvin of Karthik month, which usually falls in September-October as per the Gregorian calendar. This year, Dussehra will be celebrated on 15th October 2021. On a normal day, the effigies of Ravana would have been burnt with fireworks portraying the destruction of evil.
