Filmfare launches new digital celebrity chat show, ‘Filmfare Spotlight’

The digital streaming industry has put forth a gamut of engaging and non-conforming content for the audience to binge on during the pandemic induced lockdown. And along with the new narratives, Over-the-top (OTT) platforms have also given us gripping performances by some of India’s finest actors. Starting October 28, Filmfare spotlight, the new show by Filmfare will feature candid and quirky interviews with digital streaming platforms’ stalwarts.

The digital streaming industry has seen unprecedented growth over the past few years. Audiences got a much-needed break from the stale formats and storylines they’ve been getting from the movie industry and daily soaps with the advent of streaming platforms like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Voot, Disney+Hotstar and Sony LIV. Audiences got hooked onto the non-conformist, socially responsible and relatable content churned out by these platforms. The actors also catapulted to fame with their authentic portrayal of the characters along with the accolades for the fresh content. “With Filmfare Spotlight, we seek to bring the Indian audiences closer to the artists who are ruling the digital world with their impeccable craft. We are certain that Filmfare Spotlight will be a great chance for the digital audience to know these actors a little bit better,” Deepak Lamba, CEO, Worldwide Media, said about the show. In this ten-part series, the entertainment editor of Filmfare, Rahul Gangwani quizzes the lead stars of some of the most popular web series on things that every fan must have questions about. JaideepAhlawat of PataalLok fame, KubbraSait from Sacred Games, Sumeet Vyas who has done multiple TVF shows, Made in Heaven fame Arjun Mathur and others ,including bollywood actors  Ali Fazal, Mithila Palkar, Vikrant Massey, MaanviGagroo, Amid Sadh etc., are some of the names that to be featured in the series. They share their personal experiences working in some breakthrough web series, their struggles, anecdotes from sets, their aspirations and much more. The show aims to bring the fans closer to their favourite actors with exclusive personal interviews.  The episodes air every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 12 p.m. IST and are available on the YouTube channel and other social media handles of Filmfare.
