Fazil Ummer: The Indian Teen To Set A New Record At Expo 2020 Dubai

The 16-year old boy of Indian descent, Fazil Ummer has set a new record of touring all the 192 pavilions at Expo 2020 Dubai in just 72 hours. The Saudi Arabian-born teenager has travelled to Dubai with his family but visited the Expo on his own. The local media in the country reported his record of visiting all the pavilions at the Expo 2020 in three days.

Also, he is reported to be the first Indian to collect stamps of all the nations on his special Expo passport. He visited all the pavilions to realize his dream of going to every country. ‘When I was a kid, I had a dream to go to every country in the world but when I matured, I realized that it was too costly…I can’t do it. (Then) I came to Expo, and when I finished all the pavilions I felt like I went to all the countries. It was awesome. I met many people from different countries. It was like a dream (come true) for me,’ Fazil told Gulf News.

He strategically planned his journey to cover the whole Expo site. He went to the Visitor Centre for better planning and also took plenty of good photos. On his first day, he completed eighty pavilions without a map. Most of those were located in different areas at the Expo, and therefore, the Visitor Centre helped him to strategize the rest of his journey. He completed fifty pavilions on the second day and the remaining sixty-two on the third day.

He told the Gulf News, “I was very tired after visiting all the pavilions. Thank you Expo 2020 for this amazing experience. I’ll never forget this one… I have no words,” he added. He listed Saudi Arabia, UAE and Germany as his three favorite pavilions at the Expo 2020 in Dubai.
