Expo 2020 Dubai To Welcome 200-plus Eateries

Hit by the Covid-19 pandemic, one of the first global mega-events that got postponed, Expo 2020 Dubai would finally occur between October 1, 2021, and March 31, 2022. With a theme called “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future, the Expo will not only be about sustainability, mobility, innovation, science, or opportunity, it will also host 200-plus eateries, including global chefs and new dining concepts. There will be some Expo-exclusive eateries, suiting each palate and budget.  

The Expo 2020 will welcome over 20 award-winning celebrity chefs. David Myers, Mory Sacko and Matthew Kenney are a few names to mention who have earned Michelin stars, the global hallmark of fine dining and culinary excellence, which will lighten the Expo. Additionally, it is expected that many globally-acclaimed restaurants will make their debut in Dubai with Expo 2020.   

For instance, Geoffrey Zakarian, a celebrated Armenian-American chef, will debut with The National Bar and Dining Rooms and offer modern bistron cuisine from breakfast to dinner. On the other hand, American ‘Gypsy Chef’ David Myers will combine classic American fast food with Adrift Burger Bar. Both restaurants will make their entry with brand new concepts at Expo 2020 Dubai.  

It is also expected that the Expo will also introduce a wide range of bespoke food concepts, such as the Alkebulan African dining hall, which is curated by former Opera singer-turned-restauranter Alexander Smalls. Besides, it will also feature 11 chef-led concepts from Africa, the Gulf that celebrates the region’s rich food culture, and Talabat that is likely to enter a cloud kitchen with a fleet of riders from the food delivery platform, delivery robots and robotic baristas.  

The Expo 2020 Dubai will also have an exciting range of cuisines from India, Ireland, and the UAE. Cuisines such as Indian gem, Arabian Tea house, Al Farwania, Dampa Seafood Grill, Lebanese Stalwart Al Reef Bakery, Kanafa (Hanon Feras Sweets) will delight taste buds.  

Pakistani street food will also be served in eateries like Ravi Restaurant, Maraheb Yemeni Restaurants, Al Farwania Restaurant, Chicken Tikka Inn and Sarouja Restaurant & Café.
