Dubai-Based Indian Entrepreneur And Philanthropist Dr PA Ibrahim Haji Passes Away

Eminent Dubai-based Indian entrepreneur, philanthropist and leader of several educational institutions in the UAE, Dr PA Ibrahim Haji, died on Tuesday, December 21.  

The 78-years-old Dr Haji died of health complications at approximately 10.15 am Indian time at MIMS Hospital Kozhikode in Kerala, India.   

On December 20 late night, Dr Haji had been shifted to India in an air ambulance from Dubai after he suffered a stroke in the morning of December 11.   

“Dr Haji left Dubai Monday night in a very serious condition for further treatment in MIMS Kozhikode. His wish was to be laid to rest in India,” said close community sources.  

Dr Haji was born on September 6, 1943, at Pallikkara in Kasargod district, as the son of Abdulla Haji and Ayisha. He migrated to UAE in 1966 and has been a UAE resident for long 55-years.   

Dr Haji was the founder co-chairman of Malabar Group and chairman of PACE Education Group. Also, he was the founder and vice-chairman of the Indus Motor Company.   

Dr Haji, who succeeded in Jewellery, textiles and garment industries, had stepped into the educational sector through PACE education in 1999. Later, PACE had broadened its ambits with more than 20000 students and more than thousands of teachers. PACE education has institutions in India, UAE and Kuwait.   

Dr Haji’s mortal remains will be kept at his residence Kozhikode, Kerala, until 4 pm for close family and friends to pay their respects. The funeral will be held at 6 pm (IST) in Manjeri, Malappuram, Kerala.
