Dedicated GRP Personnel Return Valuables To Elderly NRI In Amritsar

Mulakh Raj, a 90-year-old NRI resident in the United States, never imagined receiving his belongings back after leaving them in his handbag at the train station here on Thursday.

However, GRP officers who discovered the bag could track down his family in Amritsar and eventually returned the bag to him, which included an Apple laptop, two mobile phones, a tablet, a camera, and other items.

According to DSP Surinder Kumar, Such gestures go a long way toward boosting the police department’s image. He turned over his possessions to the NRI.

Mulakh Raj stated that he had been to over 120 countries and had never had such a lovely time. “I was sad when I lost my luggage and believed I’d never get it back. Today I was supposed to file a complaint with the GRP. They had already located and returned it to me, thankfully. The GRP owed me and my family money,” he said.

Mulakh Raj arrived in Amritsar from Delhi on Thursday morning, according to Dharminder Kalyan, SHO, GRP police station, to see some relatives in the Rani Ka Bagh area. He lost his briefcase and handbag at the railway station since he was elderly. Instead of heading to Rani Ka Bagh, he ended up on the side of the bus station.

When his officers informed him that the bag had been located, he stated they opened it and discovered the jewels. They also discovered a journal from it, he added. They contacted their family in the Rani Ka Bagh region using the journal. Mulkh Raj’s phone number, on the other hand, was disconnected. His family tracked him down at the bus stop in the evening when his phone was turned on and took him to the police station, where we returned the things to him.
