Numerous NFT compilations have featured luminaries who have passed away, despite many celebrities having launched non-fungible token collections. NFT’s collections include items from legends such as Jerry Garcia, Kurt Cobain, Muhammad Ali, Elvis, Tupac, and more.
Ethernity and Bruce Lee’s family will release the renowned martial artist’s first NFT collection this Saturday, dubbed “The Formless Form.”
Bruce Lee, a martial artist, martial arts instructor, film star, and philosopher from Hong Kong and the United States, is an extremely popular pop-culture icon. He is famous for his martial arts style and for appearing in a number of feature-length martial arts movies filmed in the early 1970s.
The Bruce Lee Family Company and the NFT protocol Ethernity will launch Lee’s first NFT collection on January 8, 2022. The NFT compilation aims to celebrate Lee’s legacy as a martial arts pioneer, philosopher, and global action film star, according to a press release issued by Ethernity.
NFT’s announcement stated that the collection was “inspired by Bruce Lee’s philosophy and teachings.” Additionally, the artwork comes from Bosslogic, Raf Grassetti, and Anthony Francisco.
“My father believed in honest self-expression,” Shannon Lee, chairman and CEO of the Bruce Lee Family Company and the One Family Foundation, said.
Lee’s daughter continued: Our organization is honoured to have the opportunity to work with talented artists whose artistic expressions will help us spread Bruce Lee’s philosophy and teachings to the world in an authentic way.
Bruce Lee’s non-fungible tokens follow in the footsteps of many other renowned celebrities and performers who have passed away but are still remembered in non-fungible token art.
The Jerry Garcia Foundation launched the first NFT auction featuring the late Grateful Dead guitarist’s art during the first week of May.
During the same week, Ethernity partnered with Muhammad Ali Enterprises (MAE) to launch the first Muhammad Ali NFT collection, and never-before-seen Muhammad Ali artwork was auctioned by Sotheby’s.
Never-before-seen photos of Kurt Cobain’s last photoshoot were turned into an NFT collection by the end of April 2021. Makersplace revealed the first NFT collection based on Tupac Shakur’s most well-known jewellery pieces in mid-December.
Ethernity’s CEO and founder Nick Rose said during the announcement that the team is looking forward to providing Bruce Lee fans with these new NFTs. A prominent figure like Bruce Lee is a perfect fit for our great ambitions and endeavours, and we thrive on exploring opportunities for expanding our worlds of important individuals,” Rose said.
Added an Ethernity executive: We are looking forward to giving Bruce Lee’s fans new ways to commemorate the life and work of the man we all share so many fond memories with.
