Land ownership is very important inside and outside the metaverse world, and acquiring a plot of land is a pretty regular investment. The majority of people outside the metaverse don’t quite understand or are still uncertain about why people want to become landowners in the metaverse, or what such ownership can actually do for them.
What Do You Mean By Metaverse?
Metaverse happens to be a virtual world that is accessed through avatars. It goes beyond gaming and lets visitors interact virtually and engage in a variety of activities in real-time. Experts believe the metaverse now represents a $1 trillion revenue opportunity.
Metaverse in Crypto
A cryptocurrency metaverse is an immersive virtual world with tremendous social and financial potential. Their use of blockchain infrastructure allows them to tap into the wider crypto economy, enabling virtual items to be exchanged for real currency.
Sandbox’s crypto is similar to MANA and is used on the platform. The Sandbox marketplace allows you to sell assets as NFTs, buy land, and play games. You can buy SAND on exchanges like Binance, Huobi, WazirX, and UPbit.
How Even A Small Plot In Metaverse Can Help?
In order to be clear, not all metaverse games have the same popularity level and not all of them are developed with land available for sale.
Sandbox is one of the leading metaverse games, and its Alpha release gave me an idea of how metaverse land ownership works. So, let’s examine the land ownership system in this game. The smallest plot of land in The Sandbox is currently priced from $11,000 to $19,000 on OpenSea, ranking the price from lowest to highest.
Additionally, large plots of connected land have been acquired by brands and whales with deep pockets, and these landowners are likely to invest significantly more to make their plots more attractive. If you are looking for an opportunity to show off the potential of a small plot of land and not just hold it as an investment, The Sandbox’s Alpha quests offer a great way for you to do this.
It’s hard to avoid comparing the gaming experience I had with the “smaller quests” that took up four plots of land in The Sandbox world, even though I didn’t play them all together in the Alpha quest of The Sandbox. Club XYZ and Edge of the Abyss were small compared to some “bigger quests” which included 16 plots of land, such as Aldrak Garrison and Xalya Sanctuary.
Were the smaller quests less appealing or less entertaining than the bigger quests? Not necessarily. The level of enjoyment of the experience is not dependent on the land size, but on the story, the rich details, the many possibilities, the music, the sound effects, etc. The impact of one tiny plot of land can potentially be ten times greater than 16 larger plots.
Another thing that might be overlooked is how many “floors” you can build on a plot of land. Take, for instance, the Alpha quest in Edge of the Abyss. This quest took place in a post-apocalyptic industrial town built on the edge of an abyss. I had to move up and down the entire vertical structure using ladders, snake paths and floating platforms to reach all the signposts when I entered the quest.
In spite of the fact that the Edge of the Abyss is built on only four plots of land, the actual gameplay experience contains a much larger playable space than other quests that are built on plots of comparable size. Landowners with no execution capabilities or skills can always hire a professional experienced designer and asset creator to do the job.
