Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, on Saturday, visited former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa’s memorial at Marina Beach in Chennai, ahead of the release of her film Thalaivii, based on the life of the iconic political leader. Kangana and director AL Vijay also paid their respects to former Chief Minister MG Ramachandran (MGR).
Kangana Ranaut and Arvind Swami staring Thalaivii is set to release in theatres on September 10. Directed by AL Vijay, the film chronicles the life of formerTamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa. Thalaivii will see Arvind Swami essay the role of AIADMK founder MGR, while Kangana will play Jayalalithaa. Though the film was scheduled to release in theatres on April 23, it was postponed due to the second wave of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Thalaivii’s cast includes Nassar, Bhagyashree, Samuthirakani, Madhu Bala, Thambi Ramaiah, Poorna and Vidya Pradeep in pivotal roles. The film is releasing in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
