In that case, you can come to Qatar even if you are not in possession of a Hayya card. As per a declaration by Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, from December 6 onwards, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) citizens and residents can visit Qatar even if they have not registered on the Hayya portal.
Having said that, you would not be able to enjoy the match at the stadiums without tickets, but by coming to Qatar you can relish the mouth-watering contests at the dedicated fan zones and see the matches in live screening spaces.
What’s Hayya Card?
As per FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association), the Hayya card happens to be an ID card meant for fans, a personalised document given to fans eager to watch FIFA World Cup matches live from stadiums. It is mandatory to have a Hayya card and relevant match tickets to come to the stadium on match day. But, at the beginning of this month, Qatar unveiled the ‘Hayya card for non-ticket holders’, permitting fans from other regions to visit Qatar and treat themselves to the ongoing football festivities.
Three Manners To Come To Qatar
Airports
As per Qatar News Agency (QNA), GCC residents and citizens are permitted to come to Qatar sans the Hayya card for non-ticket holders as of December 6, 2022.
2. Buses
In case you are coming via bus, you can cross via the land border, through the Abu Samra checkpoint.
After passing through customs and immigration, you can go for these options for the further journey: • Board the free bus from the terminal to Al Messila Metro Station in Doha. • If there is someone to pick you up, you can take the free shuttle bus to the Al Qalayel family and friends pick-up area There is even free parking permitted for visitors
Private Vehicle
As per QNA, you can also cross through the land border in your private vehicle from December 8 onwards
For the same, you must apply for a permit on Qatar’s Ministry of Interior website – portal.moi.gov.qa at least 12 hours prior to the trip. There will not be any additional fee for applying for the entry permit.
