Global Employability Ranking: Top Colleges in India with higher job prospects

Let us check out the six premier institutes that have made it to the Global Employability Ranking and Survey (GEURS) 2020. The report released by them places Indian in the 15th spot globally, a rank which is eight positions higher from that occupied by the country in 2018.

  • IIT Delhi

This is considered to be the most employable institute in the country with the 27th position, climbing 27 ranks from 54th in 2019.

  • IIScBanglore

Securing the 71st position globally, the IIsc has proved to be the second most employable institute in the country. However, its position globally has actually come down from the 43rd rank which it held in the previous year.

  • IIT Bombay

This premier institute in India made it to the 128th rank worldwide, being one of the world’s top 150 employable universities. This is a great improvement for IIT Bombay which held the 153rd rank in 2019.

  • IIM Ahmedabad

The Indian Institute of Management was ranked 184 in the employability ranking worldwide. It is also the top management institute in the country as per the NIRF ranking.

  • IIT Kharagpur

Securing the 195th rank, the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur made it to the top 250 global employment ranking this year for the first time.

  • Amity University

This institute secured the 236th position globally and the first rank among the private universities in India. It is interesting to note that not all of these colleges have features in India’s top colleges in the QS ranking. Technical University of Munich, Germany secured the 12th position, thereby featuring in the top 15. The survey also revealed that the United States continues to be the best place in terms of employability ranking, maintaining its dominance over the QS Rank list as well in terms of best institutes. The survey conducted by Times Higher Education and Emerging, a French Consultancy Group, revealed that the California Institute of Technology most employable institute in the world followed by the Massachusetts Institute of technology and Harvard University in the third place. Ranks of United Kingdoms which has long dominated the list and been a prime destination for international students, has fallen by two spots in the list while others like South Korea, Germany, and China have shown huge improvement. Even US’s score has fallen by 51% in the past 10 years.
