The Supreme Council for Women in Bahrain launched a guide to media coverage of family affairs during a remote seminar on 29 March 2022.
In a speech before the session, Al-Ansari praised HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the sanctity of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, and emphasized the pivotal role of the media in enhancing the status of women and maintaining family stability.
She underscored the pivotal role of the media in consolidating values and raising awareness of the importance of promoting social harmony and maintaining family stability.
She affirmed the council’s aim to promote family stability, which is a fundamental pillar of national security, sustainable development, and the national plan for the advancement of Bahraini women.
Al-Rumaihi praised the role played by the Council under the chairmanship of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
He pointed out the dedication of efforts to support the advancement of women and enhance family stability in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
He said that the guide will help the media and journalists adequately deal with family issues. Also, he praised the council’s efforts to hold consultations with the media regarding the content of the scheme.
He said that the media in Bahrain aims to deal appropriately with sensitive family issues and convey the correct information. He also added that the said issues should be presented with credibility and accuracy by the media.
He described the media in Bahrain as a strategic partner that supports the council’s plans, programmes, and initiatives that serve women.
He also pointed to the media’s keenness on transparency and responsibility in conveying news.
The head of the Jordanian Journalists Syndicate, Al-Shiji also delivered a speech in the virtual session, ‘praising the council’s initiative to issue a media guide to cover topics related to family stability.’
The virtual session was attended by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women Hala Al-Ansari, Minister of Information Affairs Ali bin Mohammed Al-Rumaihi, President of the Bahrain Journalists Association Issa Al-Shayji, and about 90 media professionals, journalists, columnists and stakeholders.
